Anne Crockett-Stark to run for reelection

According to Jerry at From on High, Ms. Crockett-Stark will be seeking her second term in the House of Delegates. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Crockett-Stark on one occasion. She strikes me as a very astute and hard working person. Here’s hoping she has an easy reelection bid.

Washington County VA – Operating Budget FY 2009-2010

For whatever reasons, I have just now got around to downloading and begin a preliminary look at the proposed and recommended Washington County Operating Budget for FY 09-10.

 

BUDGET IN BRIEF
Fiscal Years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 have posed serious financial challenges for the County government. In reaction to sagging revenues resulting from slowed growth, a declining percentage increase in real property valuation and the current national economic crises, all County government Offices, departments and agencies were asked to submit budget requests showing at least a 10% reduction in non-personnel operating expenses for FY2009-2010. This 10% reduction was applied equally wherever possible throughout the Recommended County Operating Budget. In large measure,however, this 10% reduction was offset by significant, mandatory increases in County funding to certain operations (notably the Regional Jail and Comprehensive Services Act) and for debt obligations (former AEP Building acquisition by the County and property acquisition by the County’s Industrial Development Authority) where the County has little to no flexibility in determining local funding. A 1.5% reduction in County funds to Washington County Public Schools is recommended in the budget, or about $358,000 less that the amount of County funds made available in the current fiscal year. No general salary increases for non-School personnel are recommended, either for locally-funded or state-funded positions. The Recommended Budget is based on maintaining the current $0.57 tax rate for the coming fiscal year.

The above is taken directly from the Budget document. I commend the effort to make certain cuts in the budget. Families across the county are having to do the very same thing. I’ll be posting some observations about the budget and will have those up possibly this afternoon, or more likely, tomorrow.

FDA = Federal Death Administration

I applaud the Christian Medical and Dental Association for taking the FDA to task for allowing the sale of the so-called “emergency morning after pill” to 17 year olds. Friends, in no case whatsoever is this pill warranted for any emergency. This is simply another instance of the corrupt Obama administration’s attempt at allowing genocide to continue in this country.

Want some good advice? You spread your legs, you deal with the consequences.Guys, you’re not exempt here either. If you can’t keep your pants zipped, you have to man up and deal with the situation. The conception of a pre-born baby is NEVER an emergency. EVER.

This quote, while a good start, still masks the main problem. Girls get pregnant and think, oh I’ll just get an abortion. Boys think, there will be no consequences because I’ll just give her the morning after pill. The parents in this world have abdicated their divinely apportioned responsibility to raise and rear their children in a responsible way. I not only blame the Federal Death Administration, I also blame parents for not being available to their children and for not setting boundaries.

 

Stevens said he also believes the pill does nothing but mask the problem of incest, rape and teenage men who will use the advantage of peer pressure to force teen girls into sex because they will be able to get access to the pill.

“You’re going to put this pill in the hands of young men who will tell the girl, ‘Don’t worry. I’ve got the morning after pill.’ Social policy-wise, it is an enabling drug,” said Stevens.

Using data he has researched, Stevens said the manufacturer of the Plan B pill is making millions off of a tablet that costs less than 30 cents to manufacture but costs over $60 per box to buy.

“You can buy a whole month’s supply of generic birth control pills for less than $4,” he said.

“They talk about their ideology that this will free up women, but this is a money issue. And we have proof that it doesn’t reduce the abortion rate nor the pregnancy rate. The main reason to sell it is you will make a ton of money.”

That's it. To bloody hell with the Republican party, their lies, their half truths, and their attempt to terrorize the American people and turn them against the President.

To every Republican reading my words, I say:
SHAME on you, SHAME on your leaders, and SHAME on your party.
"Taking techniques off the table." The "techniques" referred to are CRIMES. Whether they generated useful information (which claims on their part I say are lies) is irrelevant. They are CRIMES.
We now now that Khalid Sheikh Muhammad was subjected to waterboard torture 183 times in one month in order to get him to assert a nonexistent link between Saddam Hussein and AlQaida, to provide an additional false justification for the lying bastards that dragged us into Iraq for no valid reason whatever.

Consider: a Republican administration illegally tortured a detainee 183 times in one month in order to get his to add an additional lie to the pile of lies used by those same Republicans to lead us into a war based on lies that has resulted in the deaths of thousands upon thousands of human beings.

Republicans, you rightly belong consigned to the dustbin of history with the Whigs.

Americans:

Republicans hate you, they hate the President, and from this, it is clear they hate America....as long as Democrats are in charge.

Hate and fear.
It is all the Republicans have to offer.
May they rot in hell.

While this “person” is exercising their 1st Amendment rights, let me say this. I have a big problem with the Bush Administration, but I challenge you to say there was an attack on our soil AFTER 9/11. Guys, this person is posting on a Virginia website. I wonder if they’ve seen the video Dogwood Pundit had up last week? Then tell me we are dealing with rational humans.
